Rehearsal For This Week

ALL CAST MEMBERS SHOULD HAVE MADE A VSM BY NOW. YOU WERE ASKED TO CREATE ONE ON THE FIRST DAY OF READ THROUGH. CAST MEMBERS WHO CREATED THEIR VSM ACCOUNT DID GET A NOTIFICATION LETTING THEM KNOW WHAT THE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE FOR TOMORROW IS. SO, IF YOU DID NOT GET THAT NOTIFICATION YOU EITHER NEED TO CREATE A VSM ACCOUNT, OR UPDATE YOURS.

Tomorrow we will be running the first half of the show (from 1.1 to intermission).
This will be a FULL CAST rehearsal.
Rehearsals from now on will be full cast - welcome to Tech Week!

If you have your character shoes, or the shoes Lydia assigned you, it is advised that you begin wearing them to rehearsal so that you can get used to moving around in your shoes as your character!

See you all tomorrow!

THIS WEEK'S SCHEDULE!

we only have a few more scenes to block! wooo! this is what this week's schedule is roughly going to look like:

tuesday: rehearsal for those who handle weaponry with Mr. Smestad after school

wednesday: rehearsal for those who handle weaponry with Mr. Smestad after school

thursday: blocking the last few scenes **SPECIFIC SCENES TBA**

friday: blocking the last few scenes **SPECIFIC SCENES TBA**

I believe the last few scenes include 4.7, 5.1, and 5.2 but the specific order of which day which scenes will be blocked on will be decided upon tomorrow. People who are in Crescendo and need to be at Mr. Smestad's rehearsal will obviously need to come to tomorrow's rehearsal since they cannot attend on Wednesday. By Friday, if all goes as planned, the show will be fully blocked! You know what that mean....memorizing lines! Now that you know you're blocking it's time to learn your lines so that you can really work the scene during rehearsal. We all learn at different paces, so don't stress out, but just know that the show is coming up quite soon and we really need lines to be known as well as possible next week so that we can be prepared! There will always be stage managers and asm's on book during rehearsal - so don't be nervous about forgetting your lines or messing up! Don't forget about character analyses tomorrow! Freshman - you can hand yours in on Friday since some of you will need extra time to ask your mentors about how to complete the analysis properly! Remember cast money and makeup (and shoes soon, too!)

See you all tomorrow!! :)

Buying Shoes for the Show!

For the majority of our shows, cast members will be needing character shoes. Costumes will usually recommend the cast members going to Capezio, but Mrs. Austein has gotten us a much better deal for the shoes that we will be requesting you purchase as you participate in the shows. For Hamlet, everybody will most likely be asked to purchase character shoes in the next week or so. Rather than going to Capezio, Maple Avenue Dance Shop has offered to give On Tour Company members a discount off of the price that they sell character shoes for - which is already less than what Capezio sells them for, I believe. So, here is the store information and hours so that if you do, in fact, need to buy shoes, you can do so for a much lower cost! Thank you, Mrs. Austein!

Makeup for Hamlet Cast!

Every Hamlet cast member needs a Mehron makeup palette! We suggest you order those ASAP so you have them in time for dress rehearsals. Please purchase the Mini-Pro Student Makeup Kit: http://www.mehron.com/Mini_Pro_Student_Makeup_Kit_p/kmp.htm from the Mehron website in your skin tone. We will be collecting cast money soon as well. The amounts are tentatively $5 for cast members and $10 for seniors and management - but that is subject to change and we will let you know the exact amounts and the due date asap. keep in mind that most of you will need to purchase shoes for the show once the costume lists go up, so be prepared for that as well! character and dress shoes will most likely be used, as they usually are for the Shakespeare, but keep checking the board for costume announcements about shoes!

we only have 17 SCHOOL DAYS OF REHEARSAL LEFT....scary! we are buckling down with rehearsals. you need to be ON TIME, MEMORIZING LINES, AND EACH OF YOU SHOULD BE WRITING A CHARACTER ANALYSIS. When we begin to have full cast rehearsals to run full acts, we are going to be doing fun little exercises that require character development so every cast member should be thinking about and writing down everything they can about their character!!! IT'S CRUNCH TIME, GUYS!
