ASM Letters + Rehearsal

ASM Letters

Due Monday! Please remember to hand them in! Text/email me with questions.

Rehearsal

Like we said at Thursday's rehearsal, we will be having a lot of dance rehearsals, sometimes unexpectedly. Please bring in dance clothes and shoes to keep in school!

Ladies, you will be wearing some sort of heel in the show (character shoes, boots, etc.), so it is in your best interest to begin dancing with that kind of shoe now. You can't go wrong with character shoes, so if you have them, please keep them around to dance in.

3-6 pm: Finish opening number with Sal
(Please bring dance clothes & shoes)

Tuesday

3-6 pm: Musical rehearsal with Bill, full cast

7-10 pm: Waiter's Gallop* with Robert
*Your names were announced at Thursday's rehearsal

(Crescendo members: we are aware of your conflict)

ASMs, Strike, & Rehearsal

ASMs

ASM Letters of Intent are due by Monday 2/1. If you have any questions, please see Amanda M.

Strike

The final strike/cleanup effort will occur Friday right after school. If you have not yet put in your mandatory three hours of strike, this is your final chance. Even if you have put in your hours, please give us and hour or two of help. Priorities have been posted on the call board.

Rehearsal

Rehearsal will occur tomorrow from 5:30-8:30 pm, most likely with principles. However, some ensemble members may be called, so please check the call board tomorrow. Due to the time of the rehearsal, please have dinner beforehand.

If we rehearse on Saturday, time/scenes will be posted on the call board and the blog by Friday afternoon.

Our efforts tomorrow in clearing up the mishaps will allow what we have accomplished to shine through. Have a great night, and see you tomorrow.

Tech Week Schedule + Mid-Year Crew Evaluations

Mid-Year Crew Evaluations

After the first two quarters, we review crew members and positions to determine how we can improve our crews for the second half of the year. This is often an opportunity to add people to crews as apprentices, or to re-assign any necessary roles. Please note that if you are not accepted onto a crew, especially if you are a freshman, do not be discouraged; because seniors are still on the crews, there are rarely many positions open. June is when we make the biggest changes and additions to crews.

If you wish to be considered for a crew, please submit a letter of intent by Friday, January 15th. This letter should cover why you want to join the crew, any previous experience that qualifies you for a position, specific projects/work you have done with this crew, and anything else you think will help us decide if you will fit well on the crew. You do not need to apply specifically to be a CC/ACC/Apprentice, though you may; in most cases, we will assign you wherever we see fit.

Those who are already on the crew do not need to re-apply, unless you wish to change your position on the crew. If, for any reason, you feel the need to resign from a crew, please submit a letter of resignation and expect to speak with us.

As usual, existing crew members can submit suggestions, which are also due on Friday.

If you have any questions, please see an officer.

Note

Tech can occur, except for small exceptions, at all times during the week. If you wish to work outside of the assigned tech hours, please speak with your CCs or an officer.

Tech Week Procedures

Tech week begins tomorrow, Friday 1/8. Because this is the first tech week for many of you, and due to some recent procedural changes, the following is a very important list of Tech Week Procedures.

(First, a quick reminder to freshmen & new students - lighting workshop tomorrow, 2:45-3:45 pm in the auditorium!)

1. Rehearsal

A detailed rehearsal schedule will be posted presently, but cast members can expect to rehearse potentially until 10 pm every day of tech week (excluding the weekend). The only exception is Thursday, dress rehearsal, during which we will work until we finish. Once a detailed schedule is posted, please arrange rides / meals accordingly.

No conflicts are accepted during tech week. Please speak with the management if you have any further questions.

2. Crew Priority Lists

At the beginning of each work day (directly following 9th period), Sal has requested that each crew hands in a list of priorities. This should include the projects scheduled for the day, the person in charge of each project, a deadline, and (if different) the person in charge of cleanup. At the end of work a representative from each crew can report back to Sal about what was accomplished.

The time before drama class begins is a great time to create this list. CCs, please communicate with your crew members about this new procedure.

3. A Message From Parent Boosters

Dear Students,

As another hell week approaches, we, Parent Boosters, would like to do a few little things to help you stay healthy during the week:

  • We will supply you with water bottles. (You may want to write your name on the bottle, to help avoid waste).
  • We will put out a variety of healthy snacks.
  • We will have hand sanitizers available for your use (PLEASE USE THEM!)
  • We will supply dinner on the evening of dress rehearsal, (a box dinner; sandwich wrap and chips. Please make sure you fill out the form indicating your sandwich preference)
  • As we have done in the past, we will provide a buffet type dinner on opening night, Friday, January 15.

We hope to set the water and snacks up in the drama room, so you can get them as you come and go during the afternoon and evening hours.

Have a healthy and productive week!

-Parent Drama Boosters

We are looking forward to a safe, stress-free tech week.
