A Message from Sal

Dear Parents and students:

We are beginning to experience several flu outbreaks in the Drama program and in the cast. The one in the cast is a confirmed case flu.

I have spoken to Mr. Seinfeld and we are taking the following precautions and suggesting that you take the following steps

  • ¨ All rehearsals and after school tech work has been severely curtailed until Thursday. Only a select few people have been asked to stay and only because they will be assuming roles for those in the cast stricken with the flu. Their time will also be brief.
  • ¨ The understudy performance for Thursday is being postponed until Monday at 3:45.
  • ¨ Understudies for that performance will rehearse their scenes spread out over two days: Thursday and Friday afternoons and Saturday afternoon if need be. A schedule will be posted in the room and on the blog.
  • ¨ Those students singing in the Dinner theatre may continue to rehearse independently at home. Jordan and Amanda will advise them but not begin to work with them until Thursday.
  • ¨ Please take whatever medical precautions you need. I know some are arranging for the vaccine. Do whatever is best for you child.
  • ¨ We advise and encourage all students in Drama to avoid close contact with each other. It may sound funny but stop hugging and falling all over each other like armchairs.
  • ¨ Use hand sanitizer and wash hands. Anti-bacterial soap is available in the Drama room bathroom. Wash hands often. Hand sanitizer only goes so far in preventing the spread of bacteria.
  • ¨ We encourage the consumption of lots of fluids, especially water and juices. We also recommend the taking of vitamins, eating well and getting plenty of rest.
  • ¨ Dinner theatre will proceed as planned.
  • ¨ Please check the blog for any further news.

Stay healthy,

Sal Salerno
