Hey Everyone.
Sitting at home this Monday night, I have been reflecting a lot on the run of The Beggar's Opera. I really just want to take the opportunity to express my joy and pride for the run of this show. Everyone truly stepped it up in every way. From the tech and paint, to costumes, to the cast/rehearsals, we were ready to open two Fridays ago, knowing the show wouldn't be running on nerves and prayers, but on hard work and confidence. That factor truly shaped this show. We cut our running time a little bit every night, things got smoother and the dedication did not waiver. We got better and better every night, but not so much better that we had to feel bad for our opening night audience, feeling they saw a sub-par performance. Everyone worked their butts off and deserves so much credit for the success of this show. We could have easily bombed, but thanks to every single person involved in this show, from cast to running crew, we took this unique piece and made it enjoyable for audiences of all ages, and especially, ourselves.
Again, kudos to EVERYONE involved in this productions. It will surely go down as a musical in On Tour history.
On that note, we must STRIKE this piece of On Tour history TOMORROW (Tuesday) from 2:45pm-6pm. Please note, this is mandatory for all cast members. Attendance by everyone else, however, is strongly recommended. Remember, report cards are going out soon. Take advantage of this great opportunity to show Sal that you are dedicated!
Also tomorrow (Tuesday), will be the first Annie Get Your Gun rehearsal for Amy, Spencer, Marc, Megan, Amanda and Mitch. They will report to the Vocal Room at 3pm. The same people will have rehearsal with Bill on Wednesday and Thursday at 3:15 as well.
On Friday, there will be more strike, but more information, as to who should attend and the time it will occur will be posted on the board.
Remember, that Tuesday (Tomorrow) is the Thespian Point CC mtg. Also remember that letters of intent for crew positions and ASM of AGYG will be due on Friday by 2:30.
Again, great job everyone, and I look forward to the incredible success Annie will be!
Yours,
Jeff
